Many families of older students come to Nysmith after trying other advanced programs—honors classes, pull-out sessions, or supplemental enrichment. At most schools, students with high IQs and an insatiable curiosity are often given extra worksheets or brief pull-out sessions to supplement the standard curriculum. Even worse, sometimes, they are given more repetition to keep the child occupied.  However, true learning for these children can’t be confined to a 15-minute block a few times a week. It requires an environment designed from the ground up for how they think, question, and explore.

Most schools structure their curriculum for the average learner, with lessons designed around a 100 IQ benchmark. But our students? They score 120 and above. And the further a child’s abilities extend beyond that mark, the more significant the gap between what traditional schools offer and what they need.
